As mentioned earlier, we are exploring #ZK-enhanced #DeFi applications on @zksync, a ZK rollup and trustless protocol offering scalable and inexpensive Ethereum transactions. In this thread, we’ll explain the basics of the #zkSyncEra and why this would be such an exciting move.
2/ #zkSync is a #ZK rollup. Rollups are tools for increasing the scalability of Ethereum. They perform calculations off-chain and then send the minimum summary data of the completed ones back to Ethereum in a single group. This lowers gas fees and speeds up processing.
3/ Out of all the scaling solutions, ZK Rollups are the most secure. They rely purely on math to fully inherit the security of L1, which is critical to function in highly adversarial environments. Other scaling solutions, instead, rely on economic guarantees or third parties, and thus offer far weaker security properties.
